Congratulations to the winner and
finalists in the Judaica Across America Contest!

Akira Ohiso of New York City is the Grand Prize Winner
with his entry

Winner: The Kiddush cup used by Akira Ohiso at his son’s brit milah first belonged to his great-grandfather. But it would be decades before the family heirloom made its way from Russian Jewish immigrant Jules Sottnek to his Japanese American great-grandson, Ohiso, who converted to Judaism at age thirty-three. In an entry entitled Surviving, Akira Ohiso movingly explains how a silver kiddush cup discovered after the passing of his great-grandfather become a ‘priceless heirloom’ bridging generations.
