The National Jewish Outreach Program’s ‘Judaica Across America’
Contest Rules

To Enter: Visit the National Jewish Outreach Program Web site at www.njop.org, print and complete the entry form, and submit it along with your essay and photo. You may also submit a video file (video clips must be emailed or sent in DVD format; VHS and other tapes will not be accepted) and entry form to contests@njop.org or to the NJOP mailing address. Essays, up to 500 words or videos up to 3 minutes in length, should explain the significance of the item being entered for consideration. Multiple photos of an item are welcome and images of dates, markings or any other identifying characteristics should be included when possible. Submissions will not be returned. Entry forms are also available by calling 800-44-TORAH. Non-email entries should be mailed to National Jewish Outreach Program, Judaica Across America, 989 Sixth Ave, 10th Floor, New York, NY 10018. Entries must be postmarked by December 31, 2007. Limit one entry per item, multiple entries from the same individual are permitted. Please visit www.njop.org for information about the contest.
Eligibility: The contest is open to legal residents of the United States. Employees and members of the Board of Directors of the National Jewish Outreach Program and its advertising and promotion agencies, and their immediate families and members of their households, may enter but are not eligible for prizes. All entrants must be able and willing to conduct media interviews.
Judging: NJOP, at its sole discretion, will evaluate essays, images and videos describing how entrants came to possess items of Judaica and what makes them meaningful. Entries will be judged based on inspirational content, style and uniqueness.
Prizes: Ten finalists will receive prizes ranging in monetary value between $10-100. One Grand Prize Winner, chosen from among the ten finalists, will receive two roundtrip coach airfare tickets to Israel. All expenses not specified herein, including but not limited to groceries, meals, transfer, taxes and gratuities, are the sole responsibility of the finalists and the Grand Prize Winner.
Key Dates: The contest begins on May 1, 2007. Deadline for entry is December 31, 2007. The Grand Prize Winner will be selected on or about January 15, 2008.
Terms and Conditions: The ten finalists (subject to eligibility verification) and the Grand Prize Winner will be chosen by a panel of judges selected by the National Jewish Outreach Program, whose decisions will be final on all matters relating to this contest. Finalists will be notified by telephone or email, and will be required to execute an Affidavit of Eligibility, a Liability Release and (where legal) a Publicity Release. Finalists and the Grand Prize winner will also need to make themselves available for media interviews as requested by NJOP. NJOP reserves the right to post on its website or otherwise share entries with the general public.
Except where prohibited by law, the winner's entry and acceptance of the prize constitutes permission for the National Jewish Outreach Program to use winner's name, photograph, likeness, statements, video, essay submission, biographical information, voice and city and state address in all forms of media without further compensation. Winner and entrants also agree to release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless the National Jewish Outreach Program and each of its officers, members of the Board of Directors, employees, representatives and agents from and against any claims, damages or liability due to any injuries, damages, or losses to any person (including death) or property of any kind resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any prize or participation in any contest-related activity or participation in this contest.
List of Winners: For a list of winners, please send a self-addressed stamped envelope between January 1, 2008 and February 1st, 2008 to National Jewish Outreach Program, Judaica Across America, 989 Sixth Ave, 10th Floor, New York, NY 10018. You can also send an email to contests@njop.org.
